Mah Drawlings

Here is what I've been working on aside from my oomans. (Which no one wants to see anyway; you've seen one human you've seen them all.) Thumbnail sketch of the first official illustration for my book Daemonfire. Two old friends having a standoff. Incidentally, would anyone be interested in seeing part of my short story Tapestry? I'm emailing it to a friend on Thursday so I can post some of it here if there's any interest.
Thank God for jump drives. Pure genius! And ya'll are lucky I had one. Bask in your luckiness!

  • I admire that you take on the challenge of having animal characters-- I would never be able to depict them as having so much personality. Not to mention all the tricky anatomy business...anyway, nice work!

  • I agree--nice work! I'm interested in checking it out--post away.

  • The extreme angles of the faces are really nice here. I agree with Tamara, that you give animals such expression that can rival human anyday. I can't seem to give an animal muzzle expression without looking really goofy.

Also: Please feel free to post some of your story! :D

  • addendum: It has also taken me several days to figure out what you meant by "oomans".

I never claimed to be quick-witted!

  • It's okay, Kat. Oomans are what space orcs call humans. And being able to draw animals is a trade-off. I can't draw oomans for squat diddly.
