blast from the pizzast
Alright you guys - in the wake of Ozzie's post I decided it would be cool to do the old art post thing too cos I feel like it - and I haven't posted anything here except the introduction. It fills me with so much glee that people are using this blog!! Lets all try to keep it up, ok? And please feel free to post whatever your heart desires. Even random nonsense, ideas, story bits, vague conceptions, etc. And I know there are some of you that have joined and haven't posted. *eyes*
Anyway, the girl in the following images is Solais, the main character for a fantasy story of mine. It's the largest and most complex so far and still in the making and most likely will be for a long time. She's about 17 or 18, is very warm and sweet, but definately has the teenage idea of being very smart for her age just because she's studied healing arts in both magic and in knife-and-herb healing. Yeah. And she has a ditz for an older brother.
This first picture of her I ever did was done in summer 2000 and makes me vomit on the inside. Oh deary, deary me.
This next picture is obviously more recent, from about a month ago or so and shows my most recent conception of her. It makes me a little more happy, I think :P

I knew other people had old stuff lying around! Just look at the progress--it's great. What is she holding exactly in the older illustration?!

Looks like a staff to me. Um ... with crystals on the top? You've improved leagues, Kat! I'm so jealous of your humans anyway. I'd actually like to see you do a sketch or something from my story Tapestry ... it's be right up your alley.
