Original Art

Greetings all,

Just wondering if anyone has received their original artwork back from Galaxy Press. I specifically remember someone asking that in San Diego and the reply was "yes." So....what's up with that? I haven't seen mine and it's been 7 months or so, right?

  • Hey, did you submit your originals for the first or second parts of the contest? If you did, I'm not sure what to do, but those should have been copies. And if you're talking about the large framed pieces, those went to the writers.

  • By the way, is anyone else having trouble uploading images to this site? I've tried for two days now and nothing seems to work.

  • The only original that I sent was the one that was published. I didn't have access to a camera or a scanner at the time, so I had to send my original. I informed Jodi of this and I was assured that it would be returned. God, I hope they didn't throw it away.

  • Yikes. I hope you get it back.

  • I don't think the writers got the originals. I'm positive Blake didn't get mine because the copy he had was huge and my original was only about 6x8 or so. Therefore, ergo, concordantly, Galaxy should still have it. I know they still have mine.

I'm actually sad to know that I'm not the only one who hasn't gotten their original back, so I guess all that's left is calling up Sarah to get our stuff.

  • I haven't gotten my original back either. But I didn't really like mine, so I'm not crying over it. Are we allowed to sell the piece on Ebay if we get it iback, or is that copyright infringement or something?

  • I'm pretty sure the contract we all signed was for serial publishing rights only. We, the artists, maintain all other rights.
