My contribution...

Here's my contribution to the TMNT thing we're doing (if it's still happening). I wanted to post something different than my usual B&W inking, so I went with a looser, sketchier style and added some color here. I'll be getting to Laura's pencils next, and look forward to any future collaborations.

  • oh man, fucking love the inking style. LOVE it. It's so dynamic. Nice detail on the belt there, and the expression on his face is perfect. Oh, and those teeth! Yeah, this is fantastic.

So, why he's wearing black...? I didn't know there was an evil ninja turtle. Shows how much I know about TMNT, right? Please inform.

  • Thanks T, appreciate that. Can't say I know too much about him. I thought he was from Dimension X but found that he has a different origin in the comics and cartoons. It seems though that whatever medium he's in, he isn't very bright and is easily manipulated. I pulled different details from his comic, cartoon, and toy appearances to create this look.

  • LOVE the style here. It's always great to see the versatility of an artist.

I think the style itself is what give this character's pose so much action. Hopefully I'll have time to get mine done before the job gets dropped on me!

  • WOO! This collab is gonna look AWESOME. I thought originally all the turtles wore black, in the comics, but they must've needed to make Slash "evil". I'm with Nate, the looser quality of your inkwork really makes him look like he's moving. And gotta love that zany psychopath look!
